Place Bill ( Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Places a bill of material. A typical practice is to place a bill of material on a sheet outline for detail sheets.
  • One or multiple bills of material can be placed on a sheet outline . Place Bill can also be used to place a bill of material onto other Drawing Editor drawing types .
  • Home > Project Settings > Fabricator > Detailing > Drawing Presentation > the " Bill of Material " tab > " Minimum number of rows " sets the number of bill lines when a bill has no bill data in it.
  • The " Maximum number of rows " sets the number of lines that the bill can dynamically expand to when new bill data is added to a detail sheet using Sheet Item Add .
  • Once you have created a sheet outline with a bill of material on it, you can later create several (potentially hundreds) of detail sheets using the same sheet outline. All of those detail sheets will have the same bill of material on them.
  • Bills of material that are a sheet outline for detail sheets are automatically filled out with bill data at the time that details are added to that sheet using Sheet Item Add . This is not true for erection sheets. If more lines of bill data are contained on placed details than the " Maximum number of rows ", the extra bill information spills out beyond the borders of the bill.
  • Hovering a bill of material with your mouse pointer ( ) displays the number of the bill ( 1 or 2 or 3 , etc.) in its lower, right corner. For multiple bills of material on a sheet, bill 1 is filled first, then bill 2, etc. When you perform an operation that inputs data to a bill of material (e.g., Sheet Item Add ), bill 1 is filled out first, then bill 2, and so on.
  • To edit a bill of material, simply double-click it to open the bill's edit window . The changes made to that edit window will affect only the bill of material that you double-clicked. You might want to do this, for example, to modify a bill of material that is on an individual detail sheet .
  • To delete a bill of material, simply select the bill of material , then choose Edit > Delete or hit the Delete key.
  • To move a bill of material, simply drag it to a new location, or use Edit > Move/Stretch .
