" Brace Connection To Gusset " connection design locks

Rod braces are designed when a round bar is entered as the vertical brace " Section size ."

VIDEO A rod brace is added in the model. Brace Connection To Gusset locks are then edited. (Recorded in SDS2 Detailing , v2016.)

(vertical brace to a beam or column)
(vertical brace to a beam & column)
(vertical brace to a column & base/cap plate)
(vertical brace " Section size " = round bar)
(" Input connection type " = ' Vbrc plate ' or ' User defined ')
" Brace Connection To Gusset "
( bottom end & top end )

Note 1: To get three rods as shown in this example, " Number of rods " needs to be ' 2 ' in the top-end Brace Connection To Gusset . The number of rods for the bottom end is always one, and there is no lock for changing to a number other than one.

Note 2: You can simultaneously view the locks for both the top and bottom ends of a rod brace on its Vertical Brace Review window. In a full-features SDS2 program, making changes to the bottom end updates the top end and vice-versa. On the Connection Component Edit window, only one end or the other can be seen.
