" Beam End Pocket " locks

A " Beam End Pocket " leaf may be found on the Beam Edit window when ' Bearing ' is the " Input connection type " and an " Embed schedule entry " has been made and that end of the beam frames to a concrete wall or panel.

(a beam to a concrete wall or tilt-up panel)
(" Input connection type " = ' Bearing ' or ' Auto standard ' or ' User defined ')
" Embed schedule entry " = a plate or angle or channel.

A bearing plate or angle or channel embed is defined on the " Embed Schedule ." It is a custom member , not a component of the beam.

Please note: Beam embed bearing plates / angles / channels are not designed connections. The process by which a beam end pocket is created parallels the process of connection design, but the bearing embeds are custom members , not SDS2 system connections.

Also see: The distance from the end of the beam to the interior face of the pocket is governed by the beam's " Input minus dimension ." The default minus dimension is recorded as the beam's " Automatic minus dimension ," which is derived from Home > Project Settings > Job > Field Clearances > " End and pocket clearance ." That distance does not directly relate to any lock in the " Beam End Pocket " leaf.
