" Gusset One Member Perp " & " Brace Connection To Gusset " & " HB Conn2 " connection design locks

The gusset for an angle horizontal brace perpendicular to a beam's top flange is designed per " Gusset One Member Perp " locks. The brace field bolts to the gusset plate per " Brace Connection To Gusset " locks and shop welds to the top flange of the beam per " HB Conn2 " locks. A " Stagger bolts " hole pattern is shown in the example below, but angle braces can have other hole patterns.

The horizontal brace field bolts to the gusset plate. The gusset plate shop welds to the top flange of the beam. Since the brace frames perpendicular to the beam, its gusset plate is symmetrical around its workline. However, since this is an angle brace, the hole pattern in the gusset plate is not symmetrical around the brace's workline.
