An HSS, pipe or tube horizontal brace's paddle plate shop bolts to a gusset plate at a beam-column-beam corner per " Brace Connection To Gusset Hss Paddle " locks. Depending on the framing situation, the gusset may field bolt directly to either beam's flange, or it may field bolt with clip angles to either beam's web. The paddle plate to brace connection " Weld length " controls the notch length in the HSS brace.
