A shared bottom gusset for wide flange horizontal braces can, given appropriate proximity to a beam's bottom flange, shop weld to the beam's bottom flange. If the braces' bottom flanges are at a higher elevation than the bottom flange of the beam, the gusset plate attaches to the web of the beam.
