" Gusset Beam Column Square " connection design locks

A W tee or channel vertical brace to a beam & column field bolts directly to its gusset plate per " Gusset Beam Column Square " locks. The gusset plate is square due to " Clip end operation " being set to ' No ' or, possibly, to ' Automatic '. The gusset can shop weld to the beam (" Weld Conn2 "), or it can shop bolt with a clip angle (" NS/FS Clip Conn2 ") if the beam has a clip angle. The gusset field bolts to the column with a clip angle or shear plate or end plate .

The vertical brace in these drawings frames across a gusset plate corner that is square. For this reason, the locks are in a leaf named " Gusset One Member Square ." You can get such locks when the vertical brace is a W tee (stem horizontal) or a channel or an angle (documented on a different page).
