" Gusset 2 Point Square " connection design locks

W tee or channel vertical braces field bolt directly to a shared gusset plate that shop attaches to a column. The corners of the gusset plate *(" Gusset 2 Point Square ") are square due to " Clip end operation " being set to ' No ' or, possibly, to ' Automatic '. This applies to 2-point bracing (shown) and 3-point bracing (not shown).

(WT or C vertical braces, field bolted to shared gusset, to a column)
(vertical brace " Section size " = channel or W tee)
(for a W tee, " Stem orientation " = ' Horizontal ')
(" Input connection type " = ' Vbrc plate ' or ' User defined ')
(" Clip end operation " = ' No ' or possibly ' Automatic ')
" Gusset 2 Point Square "
(gusset plate dimensions and location)

2-point and 3-point bracing . The connection design locks for 2-point bracing (2 braces to a shared gusset) and 3-point bracing are essentially the same. However, SDS2 connection design will not connect a 3-point gusset plate to the supporting beam with a clip angle. A 3-point gusset plate must be welded to the supporting beam.
