" Brace Connection To Gusset " connection design locks

A stem-vertical W tee vertical brace field bolts directly to its gusset plate per choices made to " Brace Connection To Gusset " locks. The gusset shop attaches to a column & base plate (shown) or a column & cap plate (not shown). Since the brace's " Connection type " is set to ' Coped flange ', the W tee brace's flange is cut flush to the side of the web (NS or FS) that field bolts to the gusset.

VIDEO In a full-featured SDS2 program, a stem-vertical W tee vertical brace has its " Connection type " set to ' Coped flange ' and its " Side of gusset " set to ' Near side ' then to ' Far side '. (Recorded in SDS2 Detailing , v2016.)
