" Gusset Column Cap " connection design locks

An angle, W tee or channel vertical brace field bolts directly to a gusset plate (" Gusset Column Cap ") that shop attaches to a column & base plate (shown) or a column & cap plate (not shown). The gusset's corner is clipped pependicular to the brace's workline due to " Clip end operation " being set to ' Yes ' or, possibly, to ' Automatic '. Gusset-to-column and gusset-to-column-plate shop welding is per choices made to " Weld Conn2 " and " Weld Conn1 ." If the column is perfectly vertical, the gusset's " Width " is measured horizontally.

.The gusset plate shop welds to the supporting column as specified by the " Weld Conn2 " locks. The " Weld Conn1 " control the shop weld to the base/cap plate.
