" Gusset 2 Point " & " Brace Connection To Gusset Wide Flange Flange Plate " & " Weld Conn2 "

NS and FS shared gusset plates field bolt to the left and right flanges of web-horizontal wide flange vertical braces and are designed per " Gusset 2 Point " locks when ' Flange gussets ' is the selected " Connection arrangement ." The near-side flange gusset is shown in this example. The two gusset plates shop attach to the beam per choices made to " Weld Conn2 " or " NS/FS Clip Conn2 " locks. The shared gusset plates may be for 2-point bracing (shown) or 3-point bracing (not shown).

. The NS & FS flange gusset plates shop weld or shop bolt to the beam based on the choice made to " Gusset to supporting member " under " Connection specifications " on the Vertical Brace Review window. That choice also sets whether you get " Weld Conn2 " locks or " NS/FS Clip Conn2 " locks for a 2-point gusset. A 3-point gusset must shop weld to the beam, and you will therefore always get " Weld Conn2 " locks for a 3-point gusset.
