No of columns: The number (count) of bolt columns in the shear plate.

The number of columns in this example is ' 2 '. The shear connection was created using the option to " Try two bolt column shear tabs ."

Piecemarking: Entering ' 2 ' or more " No of columns " along with a " Column spacing " updates the " Width " reported for the line on which you pressed the " More " button to open this window . If the description on that line and the number of columns and spacing on this window accurately describe a shear plate in the model, that plate will be assigned the " Piecemark " on that line.

To get two or more columns: Check the box for " Try two bolt column shear tabs " or define a moment shear plate to potentially get as many as two columns of bolts. You can also enter ' 2 ' for the " Columns of bolts " connection design lock.

Column spacing: The distance (in the primary dimension " Units " or other units ) between the columns of holes in the shear plate.

Piecemarking: Entering a " Column spacing " along with ' 2 ' or more " No of columns " updates the " Width " reported for the line on which you pressed the " More " button to open this window . If the description on that line and the number of columns and spacing on this window accurately describe a shear plate in the model, that plate will be assigned the " Piecemark " on that line.

Tip: The usual spacing between columns of holes is 3 inches if you are using ' Imperial.. ' units of measure, 76 mm if you are using ' Metric ' units.

To close Advance Shear Plate Standard Piecemark Options :

"OK" (or the Enter key) closes Advanced Shear Plate Standard Piecemark Options window and activates the Shear Plate Standard Piecemark Options window.

Note: If you press " Cancel " on the Standard Shear Plates Options window, changes made on this window are not applied.

"Cancel" (or the Esc key) closes this window without saving any changes made to it.

"Reset" undoes all changes made to this window since you first opened it. The window remains open.
