The Zone Names setup window ( Job Settings )

  • Zones are groups of sequences.
  • The Zone Names window (this window) lets you define the names of zones that you may wish different members to be classified under.
  • For instance, you may want distinct zones for different buildings or floors at the same site.
  • You cannot add zone names to the Zone Names list. You can only edit the names of existing zones. To add zones, see " Maximum sequences ."
  • Zones are not assigned directly to members. Rather, sequences are assigned to zones (see " Define Zone "), and members are assigned to sequences. Consequently, if you change a member's sequence, you might or might not also change that member's zone.
  • See the step-by-step instructions .

Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Open the Zone and Sequence window and do the following:

1a : Confirm that you have entered the correct number to " Maximum sequences ." The number you enter to " Maximum sequences " sets the number of zones that you can assign names to.

1b : Press the " Edit Zone Names " button. Go to step 2

2 . The Zone Names window (this window) will appear on screen. You can only use this window to edit zones that already exist. Zone names can be up to 20 characters in length.

# Zone
This column ( read-only ) lists the index numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) of the zone. By default, each zone is named for its index number. If you change a zone name, the new name will be applied to all members which had the previously assigned name.
To edit a zone, double-click to select the entry in the cell you want to change, press Backspace to erase the entry to that cell, then type the revised zone (e.g., ' 3rdfloor ' or 'main_bldg ' or ' southwing ' or ' underwear '). Press Tab to log the entry and go on to the next cell. Shift + Tab backs you up a cell.

3 . When you are done editing definitions on the Zone Names window, press one of the following buttons:

"OK" (or the Enter key) closes this window and saves any changes you have made.

Members which had been assigned a zone associated with a particular line that you edited on this window will automatically be reassigned the new zone name you entered.

"Cancel" (or the Esc key) closes this window without saving any changes you have made.

"Reset" undoes all changes made to this window since you first opened it. The window remains open.
