Next Retained View

Next Retained View ( Modeling & Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

Cycles through retained views that you have saved during your current Modeling or Drawing Editor session.
Retained views are saved using Retain View . Assuming that you are not currently in a retained view, Next Retained View shows the first view that was retained, then the next view that was retained, and so on ...
To cycle through retained views in the opposite direction, you can use Previous Retained View .

Step-by-step instructions :

If you have used Retain View to save retained views during your current session in Modeling or the Drawing Editor , you can use Next Retained View to call up those views.

1 . In Modeling or the Drawing Editor , use one (1) of the following methods to invoke Next Retained View :

Method 1 : Click the Next Retained View icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' View ' (Modeling) or ' View ' ( Drawing Editor ) and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If the " Modeling layout style " or " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose View > Next Retained View .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Next Retained View can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

2 . SDS2 displays the retained view that was retained after the most recently displayed retained view.

Example: If view 5/12 was the retained view you most recently displayed in Modeling , then Next Retained View displays retained view 6/12. Doing a Next Retained View again displays retained view 7/12, and so on until you get to 12/12, at which point pressing Next Retained View displays retained view 1/12.

Feedback: The status line tells you how many views have been retained and which of those views is being displayed. The number after the slash mark is the number of views that have been retained (e.g. if the status window reports " Retained View 3/4 " then four views have been retained; if it reports " Retained View 3/14 " then 14 views have been retained). The number before the slash mark is the order in which the view was retained (e.g. if the status line reports " Retained View 3/4 " then the view being displayed is the third view that was retained).

Note: At this point you have relocated your current view. Use Save View As to actually create a new view. OR you can use Undo View Change or Revert to undo the changes to your current view made with Next Retained View .
