Printer Configuration (Linux only)
This window is for Site Planning stations operating under Linux. It can be used to set the scaling factor or margins of drawings that you File > Print in the Drawing Editor . It also sets whether File > Print outputs the drawing to the a printer (' Use Printer ') or to a file (' Use User Options - Output - Printer '). |

1 . Do one (1) of the following.
Method 1 : Home > Export > 2D > Plotting .
Method 2 : Choose Interface > Plotting while in Modeling or the Drawing Editor .
2 . The Printing window opens.

Use Printer
When this radio button is selected, the " Current printer " identified below is used when you File > Print your current drawing in the Drawing Editor. The settings on this window for Printer margins and Image preparation will be applied.
Current printer: read-only . This applies when " Use Printer " (above) is selected. It tells you the name of the printer or plotter that will be printed to when you File > Print your current drawing in the Drawing Editor under Linux.
To change the current printer : Click " Choose Printer " on the Printing window.
Use User Options - Output - Printer
When this radio button is selected, the file folder that is set for User and Site Options > Output > " Printer " is the destination that drawing files are output to when you File > Print your current drawing in the Drawing Editor.

Horizontal (mm): The horizontal distance (in millimeters) from the left/right edge of the sheet to where you want side margins to begin.
This field is for sheets that print vertically.
Frame advance (mm): The vertical distance (in millimeters) from the bottom/top edge of the sheet to where you want bottom/top margins to begin.
This field is for sheets that print vertically.

) for HP-GL/2 printers and compatibles if you wish to adjust scaling.
The box should be not checked (
) for HP-GL printers and compatibles.
Reduction/enlargement scaling-factor (%): Any percentage between 0.00 and 999.99.
Your printer will scale your sheets by this amount. To plot sheets at the " Drawing scale ," enter 100 to this field. A scaling factor of 50% will cause the print to be 1/4 the area it would be at 100%.
Page size (PCL printers only): 8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17 or 8.5 x 14 or etc. This applies the " Current printer " is a PCL laser printer. Otherwise this field is disabled .
Select the page size that your laser printer uses. The sheet that you output will automatically be scaled to fit the paper size.
Page orientation (PCL printers only): Portrait or Landscape . This applies when the " Current printer " is a PCL laser printer. Otherwise this field is disabled .
' Portrait ' should be selected when the long side of the sheet (as shown in the Drawing Editor ) is oriented vertically and you want the sheet to be printed in this same orientation.
' Landscape ' should be selected when the long side of the sheet (as shown in the Drawing Editor ) is oriented horizontally and you want the sheet to be printed in this same orientation.
Image transfer and/or storage encoding: None or 7-BIT or 8-BIT .
' None ' is the normal default.
' 7-BIT ' or ' 8-BIT ' are options for compressing data for faster transmission over a network.

To close the Printer Configuration window :
"OK" saves the settings on this window so that they are applied the next time that you File > Print in the Drawing Editor .
"Cancel" closes this window without saving the changes you have made to it.
"Reset" undoes changes made to this window since you first opened it. The window remains open.
