Column flange splice plates are designed per " Outer Flange Plate " locks. The same locks control the outer splice plates on both flanges. Plates shop bolt to the lower column, field bolt to the upper.

A butt plate may also be designed when "   Butt plate " is not checked if the columns being spliced have unequal depths. When " Column attachment " is ' Welded ," " Butt plate " must be checked in order for you to get " Butt Plate " connection design locks.
