Force " so that a solids model of the connection can be generated. Presumably, the user of a full-featured SDS2 program will then modify that connection using connection design locks .
- Normally, a full-featured SDS2 program designs all system connections based on the selected " Connection design method ." If connection design determines that the connection does not meet design code guidelines, setup constraints or stand up to loading conditions, the program fails the connection.
- Users of a full-featured SDS2 program can sometimes make a failed connection work by generating a "forced" connection. The program generates solids for the connection that connection design would have created if it had not failed the connection.

How to review forced connections :
- Forced connections can produce results that are physically impossible or ill advised from an engineering standpoint. Connection Design Calculations and Expanded Connection Design Calculations are not available forced connections. When a user of a full-featured SDS2 program has forced a connection, it is usually as a last-ditch effort to get the program to design a connection. For these reasons, it is advisable that careful engineering review of such connections should be undertaken to ensure that they are designed to do what they are supposed to do.
