Drag and Drop Configuration ( Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

Opens a window that lets you configure which points are snapped to when you drag objects in the Drawing Editor .

When you drag parts of a dimension or move a construction line or construction circle , the object snaps to those points that are checked ( ) on the Drag and Drop Configuration window.

To open the Drag and Drop Configuration window ( Drawing Editor ):

Method 1 : Click the Drag and Drop Configuration icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Locate ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).
Method 2 : If " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Locate > Drag and Drop Configuration .
Method 3, 4 or 5 : Drag and Drop Configuration can also be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the ' Lightning ' layout style, configuration of the interface is done using Customize Interface .

------ Snap modes ------

These settings apply when you drag parts of a dimension or move a construction line or construction circle in the Drawing Editor .
causes the object being dragged to snap to points of that type that are closer to the mouse pointer ( ) than the distance defined by the " Aperture " range.
stops points of that type from being snapped to when the mouse pointer ( ) is within the " Aperture " range of the point.

Exact point	adds EXPT as a snap mode for dragging certain objects in the Drawing Editor .
Intersection of construction lines	adds INCL as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Intersection of real lines	adds INRL as a snap mode for dragging certain objects. Snaps to the midpoint of a line, polygon side, member line or, in Modeling , a member workline.
Intersection of construction line with member	adds INCM as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Intersection of construction line with real line	adds INCR as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Midpoint	adds MDPT as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Vertex point	adds VTPT as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
On line	adds On Line as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Center	adds CNTR to Auto Point for the particular tool you are using. Auto Point will find the center of the screen only if FRPT is not active and no other locatable point is closer to the mouse pointer ( ) than the " Aperture ."
Free point	adds FRPT to Auto Point for the particular tool you are using. Auto will let you locate a free point wherever no other locatable point is closer to the mouse pointer than the " Aperture ."

"OK" closes this window. You do not have to close this window to apply the settings on it.

Note: The settings on this window remain in effect even after you Exit and restart the Drawing Editor .
