" Stiffener Plate " connection design locks

" Stiffener Plate " locks set the design of web stiffeners in the supporting column for a vertical brace or 2- or 3-point braces.
  • Slight gaps are maintained between the stiffeners and the gusset plate and the column flanges.

(seismic or non-seismic vertical brace, stiffener plates, to a column web)
(vertical brace " Input connection type " = ' Vbrc plate ' or ' User defined ')
(" Seismic brace " = ' Yes ' or ' Automatic ')
(for non-seismic bracing: " Check supporting for web stress ")

" Stiffener Plate "

Availability : The " Stiffener Plate " connection design locks become available when a vertical brace or 2-or 3-point braces frame to a column web.

Automatic design of column web stiffener plates can take place with no connection design locks set in a full-featured SDS2 program if the column has a thin web and the brace is seismic or the check for the supporting member's web stress is turned on in the vertical brace's " Connection specifications ."
