![]() |
A rod brace constructed with two clevises, a turnbuckle, plates and round bars. You can add rod bracing similar to this by entering a round bar description as the " Section size " on the Vertical Brace window. |
To add a clevis to a member as a submaterial (pre-selection method):
To add a clevis as a legacy miscellaneous member, confirm that the box is checked for User and Site Options > Site > "
Show legacy miscellaneous members in member add screen ." Then, in Modeling , press F2 > check the box for "
Miscellaneous steel " > select " Miscellaneous -- Clevis " > locate member work points > enter a clevis " Section size " > rotate the legacy miscellaneous member into place > right-click ( Return ) when you are done.
Tip 1: Point 1 of the clevis defines the center of the " Pin hole diameter " as well as the material origin reference point.
Tip 2: Point 1 and point 2 together define the axis around which the " Rod hole diameter " is centered. The length of the clevis is defined per the local shape file specifications for the selected " Section size ."
Tip 3: Be sure that you define your selections on the Clevis Material window per the " Section size " that you select. For example, you don't want to set a " Pin diameter " that is greater than the " Maximum pin [hole] diameter " in the local shape file.
