The Preferred Flat Bar Sizes setup window ( Fabricator Settings ) (read-only)

• This read-only window lists bar stock sizes that are available in your current Fabricator .
• Bar stock sizes (such as FL1x1-0 where 1 is the thickness and 1-0 is the width) must be entered to the Preferred Flat Bar Sizes list in order for flat bar to be applied to the design of shear/single-plate connections or end plate connections or for back-up bars for welded moment connections when this same Fabricator Settigns file is used in a full-featured SDS2 program .
• If adequately sized material is not found on the list, connection design will calculate the size of plate required and use that instead.
• For flat bar "end plate" connections, the program does not use the " Horizontal edge distance " in setup, but instead uses the minimum edge distance at rolled edges from the third column of Table J3.4 or Table J3.4M (p16.1-107) in the ASD/LRFD 13th edition , or from equivalent tables for other design codes .
