Minimum cap plate thickness: The minimum cap plate thickness (in the primary dimension " Units " or in other units ).
Effect on a full-featured SDS2 program: The minimum thickness shown here applies to the design of auto cap plates in a full-featured SDS2 program . Auto cap plates may be designed when ' Auto base/cap plate ' or ' Auto standard ' or ' User defined ' is the " Input connection type " on the Column Review window. The program will design auto cap plates using plate material that is as thick or thicker than the dimension entered here. Auto base/cap plates may be designed when the column is over or under a beam.
Edge distance: The distance (in the primary dimension " Units " or other units ) from the width edge of the auto base/ cap plate to the nearest row of bolts. The width edge of an auto base cap plate runs perpendicular to the beam.
