Change All to Stick ( Modeling > press a s )

Tool summary :

  • Changes the display style of all members in your current view to stick form.
  • Stick is a member style that depicts the work line of members.

    Before (left) and after (right) Change All to Stick .
  • The member work line of a column in stick is drawn along the neutral axis of the member. For a beam, the workline is drawn along the beam's top flange center line.
  • Change All to Stick can be used in any Modeling view. To see a change as a result of your invoking the tool, at least one member must be displayed in one of the three solid forms . If all of the members are in a solid form, Change All to Stick displays in stick form ALL members in that view.
  • Before invoking Change All to Stick , you may want to turn Depth Checking off (if you want to change more members) or on (if you want to change fewer members).
  • The following instructions assume that you are using a 3-button mouse.

   Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Invoke Change All to Stick using any one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Change All to Stick icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' View -- Solids Mode ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose View > Change All to Stick .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Change All to Stick can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface . The default keyboard shortcut for Change All to Stick is a s .

Method 6 : In Solids Mode , hold down the Shift key and middle-click ( All Stick ).

2 . All members in your current view will be displayed in stick form.

Note: When you Open ( Ctrl + o ) other views, you will find that members changed to stick in your current view will also be displayed in stick in those other Modeling views.
