" Gusset One Member " & " Weld Conn2 " connection design locks

The gusset for a wide flange vertical brace to a beam is designed per choices made to " Gusset One Member " locks. When ' Standard ' is the " Connection arrangement ," the brace field bolts to the gusset plate with flange angles and web plates.The illustration below shows the near-side flange angles and NS web plate. The gusset plate can shop weld to the beam (" Weld Conn 2 "), or it can shop bolt to the beam with a clip angle (" NS/FS Clip Conn2 ").

" Weld Conn2 " (" Gusset to supporting member " = ' Welded ')	. The gusset plate shop welds or shop bolts to the beam depending on the choice made to " Gusset to supporting member " under " Connection specifications " on the Vertical Brace Review window. That choice also determines whether you get " Weld Conn2 " locks or " NS/FS Clip Conn2 " locks. The brace-to-gusset connection includes four flange angles and NS & FS web plates, all of which shop bolt to the brace and field bolt to the gusset plate.
