" Gusset 2 Point " & " Weld Conn2 " connection design locks

A shared gusset plate shop attached to a beam for a wide flange vertical brace with flange paddle plates is designed per " Gusset 2 Point " locks. ' Paddle plates ' is the " Connection arrangement ." The shared gusset may be for 2-point bracing (shown) or 3-point bracing (not shown). The gusset plate can shop weld to the column (" Weld Conn2 ") or, if it is a 2-point gusset, shop bolt with a clip angle (" NS/FS Clip Conn2 ").

The brace-to-gusset connection includes paddle plates that shop weld to the gusset plate and field bolt to the flanges of the web-vertical wide flange vertical brace. The paddle plates are controlled by the " Brace Connection To Gusset Wide Flange Paddle " locks.
