Process within Member Edit
Tool summary:
- You can set the icon to Site or On or Off.
The default setting is controlled by Process within member edit on the User and Site Options > Modeling window.
Process within Member Edit is also known as On-the-fly Process.
Site On Off - Use Site Default instructs member edit windows in Modeling to use the choice made to Process within member edit on the User and Site Options > Site window.
- On: On-the-fly process takes place as you make changes to options on member edit windows. On-the-fly process incorporates the connection design and node matching and framing situation checking phases of Process. The inclusion of the node matching and framing situation checking phases helps to ensure that the connection that you specify on the member edit window will match the solids representation of that member.
- OFF: The connection design phase of Process but not the node matching and framing situation checking phases take place.
If you are in a multi-user environment, member lock problems can potentially occur. For example, a member edit window could be opened at the same time somebody else is adding a member that connects to that member. As a result, Process within member edit will be locked from accessing information about that other member, and the following message will be generated:
On-the-fly process failed |
Note: Using this option can, potentially, prevent locking issues in multi-user environments. If you make any change to a connection on a member edit window, you will get the following message:
The user option "Process within member edit" has been disabled.
Values on this screen may change after process. |
The next time that you Process and Create Solids, the checks that are done during the node matching and framing situation checking phases of Process could result in changes to the member's connections.
