Reference Drawing Add ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Lets you add, in Modeling , a drawing that originated from or was imported to the Drawing Editor .
  • You can add a detail , job standard detail , reference drawing or 2D erection view as a reference drawing. Imported .dxf, .dxb, .dwg, .dgn and .pdf files can be either job standard details or reference drawings.
  • A drawing should be added in a view that matches the orientation depicted on the drawing. For example, if a reference drawing is a plan view at a particular reference elevation, it should be added in a plan view at that same elevation.
  • For some situations, you may find it easier to adjust the drawing's orientation in the Drawing Editor prior to adding it.
  • To begin adding a drawing, you can click the Reference Drawing Add icon or press the " Add " button on the Reference Drawing Tools window. The icon can be found in the command group ' Model -- Reference Drawing ' for Toolbar Configuration (classic) or Ribbon Editor (lightning).
  • Click here for step-by-step instructions from the documentation for the Reference Drawing Tools window.
