" Gusset 2 Point " & " Weld Conn2 " connection design locks

NS and FS web plates shop bolt to a stem-vertical W tee vertical brace and field bolt to a shared gusset plate for 2-point bracing (" Gusset 2 Point ") or 3-point bracing (not shown). The brace's work line runs through the bolt column nearest the W tee flange. The shared gusset shop attaches to the beam per " Weld Conn2 " locks or, if applicable, " NS/FS Clip Conn2 " locks.

The connection design locks for 2-point bracing (2 braces to a shared gusset) and 3-point bracing are essentially the same . However, SDS2 connection design will not connect a 3-point gusset plate to the supporting beam with a clip angle (" NS/FS Clip Conn2 " locks) . A 3-point gusset plate must be welded to the supporting beam (" Weld Conn2 " locks).
