The Material Usage Descriptions window ( Job Settings )

Settings on this window are read-only . They tell you how this window has been set up for this Job in a full-featured SDS2 program .
  • The Material Usage window can be used to set up descriptions that a user of a full-featured SDS2 program can apply to material on the General Information window.
  • For example, users might want to enter terms like 'handrail' or 'stringer' or 'roof frame' or 'truss' as a usage description.

Step-by-step instructions :

1 . To open the Material Usage window, use any one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Home > Project Settings > Job > Modeling > Material Usage Descriptions .

Method 2 : In Modeling (classic) or the Drawing Editor (classic), choose Settings > Job Settings > Material Usage Descriptions .

2 . The Material Usage window opens. The left half of this window lists all of the usage descriptions that have been added to this window.

2a (optional) : Select any material usage entry that is on the list and press the " Review " button to open a window that shows which class of material that usage entry has been assigned to. Press the " OK " button on that window to close that review window reactivate this window (the Material Usage window).

2b : Repeat step 2a as many times as you like until you are done reviewing the material usage entries. Go to step 3.

3 . When you are done reviewing the entries made to the Material Usage window:

3b : Press the " OK " button (or the Enter key) to close the Material Usage window.
