Cost Estimator Setup (Job Settings)

This tool must be downloaded from SDS2 Toolbox and installed in order to use it.

The links on the above screen shot take you to the Cost Estimator window that opens when you invoke that tool in Modeling .

Effect on Modeling : The Costing Estimator Setup window configures material and cost settings used by the Cost Estimator tool for the current Job. Also, the leaves in the [Excel Exports] section that are enabled in this window change the layout and formatting of the Excel file output. Thereafter, when you perform a cost estimate in Modeling , the Cost Estimator window is populated with settings from this window.

To open this window :

Method 1: Home > Job > Plugin Defaults > Command Plugin Defaults > double-click " Costing Estimator Setup ."

Method 2: If " Modeling layout style " or " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Settings > Job Settings > Plugin Defaults > Command > double-click "Costing Estimator Setup ."

Special indicator :

Red-colored highlighting identifies an entry that is invalid. For example, the entry to " Fabrication Efficiency Savings % " cannot be a negative number.. You need to change the header text, or you will not be able to close this window using " OK ."

To close the Cost Estimator window :

        

"Create Excel Report" (or the Enter key) closes the Cost Estimator window and saves the settings on it to the Job Settings file in your current Job . However, because no members are selected when you set up the plugin, no report will be opened.

"OK" (or the Enter key) closes this window and saves the settings on it to the Job Settings file in your current Job .

"Cancel" (or the Esc key) closes this window without saving any changes that you might have made to it.

"Reset" undoes all changes made to this window since you first opened it. The window remains open.
