An HSS, pipe or tube horizontal brace can be fitted with a built-up welded tee that field bolts to the brace's gusset plate per " Brace Connection To Gusset Hss Bolted " locks. The gusset can shop bolt to a beam's web (with a clip angle) or it can shop weld. It can shop weld to a beam's flange. To get connection design to create a gusset plate shaped like that in the example below, the brace needs to frame perpendicular to the beam. |
