" Column Flange Stiffener " connection design locks

Column stiffeners opposite to a beam moment connection are designed per " Column Flange Stiffener " locks when a wide flange or welded plate wide flange beam with a moment connection frames to the flange of a column. If " Design for stiffeners " is selected for the moment connection, flange stiffeners are designed on an as-needed basis. Null values (e.g., distances of ' 0 ') are entered if no stiffeners have been designed. These locks control the flange stiffeners on both sides (NS and FS) of the column web.

" Column Flange Stiffeners "	Availability : The " Column Flange Stiffeners " connection design locks become available to users of a full-featured SDS2 program when " Design for stiffeners " is selected for a welded or bolted moment connection, regardless of whether or not flange stiffeners are required. If the stiffeners are not required, the connection design locks have null values (e.g., distances of ' 0 ') and no physical flange stiffeners are designed. If the user of that full-featured SDS2 program then sets at least one of the null-value locks to a non-null value, a stiffener will be designed around the user-entered values even if the stiffener is not required.
