The Category Settings window

  • Settings on this window are read-only . They tell you how this window has been set up for this Fabricator in a full-featured SDS2 program .
  • Category definitions may be up to 39 characters and may include spaces. Up to 255 categories are allowed. The category entered to line 1 is assigned by default to all members in your current Job. users of a full-featured SDS2 program may want to leave line 1 blank or type something like "Default" or "Not Set" or "None".

To open Category Settings :

Methods 1, 2 & 3 : In Modeling or the Drawing Editor , choose Settings > Fabricator Settings > Category Settings (classic), or use a keyboard shortcut (if one has been set up), or click the icon.

Method 4 : Home > Project Settings > Fabricator > Category Settings .

How settings on this window affect a full-featured SDS2 program :

The Fabricator Options that you can review on this window set up categories that users of a full-featured SDS2 program can apply as classifications to members. For example, the user can set up cost categories such as "dollars per ton," "dollars per hour," or "dollars per foot" to aid in billing. Users of a full-featured SDS2 program can apply categories to members using any one of the following methods:
