Set UCS to Current View
Tool summary :
- Resets the user coordinate system (UCS) to align with your screen coordinates.
- It does not matter what view you are in when you click this icon -- the UCS axes will be set to align with the screen coordinates , causing the X axis to point up (vertical) and the Y axis to point to the right (horizontal).

No matter what view you are in, " Set UCS " will align the UCS axes with the Y axis pointed up, the X axis pointed to the right.

- When you are in a plan view in Modeling , the screen axes and global axes are aligned. This means that, if you are in a plan view, " Set UCS " will align the UCS with the global coordinate system . When you Open ( Ctrl + o ) a different view, the UCS and global coordinates will still be aligned.

To invoke Set UCS to Current View :
Method 1 : Click the Set UCS to Current View icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Locate ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).
Method 2, 3 & 4 : Set UCS to Current View can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .
Setup :
- You can set the on-screen position of the UCS axes to a corner such as ' Upper left ' by making the appropriate entry to User and Site Options > Modeling > " Indicator position ."
