Delete tools in the Assembly Editor
The Delete tools discussed here are roughly equivalent to the following tools in Modeling :

For assembles opened using File > Open or Model > Assembly > Edit :
When you Delete materials, bolts, holes or welds that attach to the assembly member , you remove those items from the assembly.
