" End Plate " connection design locks

A non-moment end plate can be designed on a beam for beam-to-beam or beam-to-column framing situations, or as beam splices per " End Plate " locks. They can be designed on W beams (shown) or C or S or HSS rectangular or welded W beams. " Vertical hole spacing " can be variable spacing ( ). " Columns " & " Horizontal hole spacing " are duplicated on each side of the plate.

(beam, non-moment end plate, to a column or a beam)
(" Input connection type " = ' End plate ' or ' Auto standard ' or ' User defined ')
(" Moment type " = ' Non-moment ')
" End Plate "

A special situation : For a vertical brace to a beam & column connection, where the beam end that the brace frames to has a non-moment end plate, the vertical brace gusset plate will field bolt to the column with an end plate (" End Plate "). If the two end plates are set to " Combine... ," connection design combines the end plates. The connection design locks on the beam, not the locks on the brace, will control most of the hole spacing and dimensioning information that is applied to the combined end plate.
