" Gusset Beam Column " & " Weld Conn2 " connection design locks

An angle, W tee or channel vertical brace field bolts directly to a gusset plate (" Gusset Beam Column ") that shop attaches to the beam in a brace-to-beam-&-column framing situation. The gusset's corner is clipped pependicular to the brace's workline due to " Clip end operation " being set to ' Yes ' or, possibly, to ' Automatic '. Gusset-to-beam shop welding is per the choice of weld size made to " Weld Conn2 ." A shop bolted gusset-to-beam clip angle connection (" NS/FS Clip Conn2 ") can be applied when the beam-to-column connection is a clip angle.

In these examples, the gusset plate field bolts to the column with clip angles If the beam connects to the column with a shear plate, the gusset also connects with a shear plate , not a clip angle. If it connects with an end plate, the gusset connects with an end plate .
