Tangent to Construction Circle (TANC -- for 2nd point location)

Tool summary :

TANC stands for "Tangent to Construction Circle." It can be used to add a construction line or a straight grid line that is tangent to a construction circle.
TANC can add the 2nd point of the construction line or straight grid line , but not the first point. The first point must be added using a different Locate option.
The construction circle can be a perfect circle or an ellipse.

The red construction line was located using INCL , then TANC . In effect, locating the same point twice.

Here's a red construction line that is tangent to an elliptical construction circle.

Step-by-step instructions :

The following instructions assume that you use a 3-button mouse, that User and Site Options > General > " Point location target " is set to ' Fancy ', and that you use mouse bindings similar to those shown in these illustrations. A construction circle must exist for TANC to function.

	1 . Invoke Construction Line Add or Add Grid Line .
	2 . With any Locate option for point location selected , place the mouse pointer ( ) so the target ( ) snaps to the point you want, then left-click ( Locate ).
	3 . When the status line prompts, " Locate second point ," select TANC , Left-click ( Locate ) when the target ( ) snaps to the nearest point of tangency on the construction circle.
	4 . The construction line or erection view is drawn tangent to the construction circle through the points that you located. Right-click ( Return ) if you are done.
