The Drag and Drop Configuration window

This window lets you configure which points are snapped to when you drag objects in the Drawing Editor .

VIDEO Drag and Drop Configuration controls which points are snapped to as you drag an extension dimension. (Recorded in SDS2 Detailing , v7.3.)

Options :

When you drag parts of a dimension or move a construction line or construction circle or etc., the object snaps to those points that are checked ( ) on this window.

To open this window ( Drawing Editor ) :

  • Method 1 : Choose Locate > Drag and Drop Configuration .
  • Method 2 : Click the icon (if it has been placed on your toolbar)
  • Method 3 : Use a keyboard shortcut (if one has been set up )

Also see :

  • Aperture (affects how close the pointer must be from a snapping point)
  • X-Y-Z display (feedback for point location)

------ Snap modes ------

adds EXPT as a snap mode for dragging certain objects in the Drawing Editor .
adds INCL as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
adds INRL as a snap mode for dragging certain objects. Snaps to the midpoint of a line, polygon side, member line or, in Modeling , a member workline.
adds INCM as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
adds INCR as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
adds MDPT as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Vertex point adds VTPT as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
On line adds On Line as a snap mode for dragging certain objects.
Center adds CNTR to Auto Point for the particular tool you are using. The program will find the center of the screen only if FRPT is not active and no other locatable point is closer to the mouse pointer ( ) than the " Aperture ."
Free point adds FRPT to Auto Point for the particular tool you are using. The program will let you locate a free point wherever no other locatable point is closer to the mouse pointer than the " Aperture ."

"OK" closes this window. You do not have to close this window to apply the settings on it.

Note: The settings on this window remain in effect even after you Exit and restart the Drawing Editor .
