Specifications (diameter and size designation) :
The user enters the nominal rebar size (e.g. "#5") by choosing the " Size designation " given to a " Reinforcing bar definition ". The available definitions are contained in the " Active rebar standard ".
Each " Reinforcing bar definition " contains the diameter, weight information, and other parameters for that " Size designation ". Reinforcing bar deformations are not accounted for by the diameter entry, nor do they appear in the model.
A rebar shape section size is designated as follows: REB+" Size designation " (example: REB#5 for a piece of #5 rebar.)
Specifications (other) :
Optionally, Rebar Coatings may be applied to the reinforcing bar. Rebar Usage Descriptions and ASTM Rebar Specifications are also defined for rebar shape material.
Submaterial piece marking :
The default material mark prefix for rebar shape is %(size)s%(shape)s_ , where %(size)s is the Rebar size, and %(shape)s is the template. You can also use your own prefix in this field.
Adding rebar shape material to the model :
You can add rebar shape material as submaterial to a member (either as Rebar Layout or as Shaped Rebar ) using Add Material .
You can add rebar shape material as an independent member (either as Rebar Layout or as Shaped Rebar ) using Add Miscellaneous Member .
Steel grades :
Steel grades that are available for rebar shape material are set up using the Concrete Options table of " Rebar Grades "
