Clevis material

Two clevises , a turnbuckle, plates and round bars. You can add rod bracing similar to this by entering a round bar description as the " Section size " on the Vertical Brace window.

- Other shape file specifications: " Clevis Number " is the number referenced in the " Section Size " and relates to the outside diameter (b). For example, if the " Section Size " is ' CV2 1/2 ', the " Clevis Number " is ' 2.5 '. " Weight " is the actual weight of the clevis that will be entered as the " Unit Weight " in the bill of material. " Capacity " is the nominal strength of the clevis used in the design of rod bracing .
- To change settings for a clevis already in a shape file: Edit the material in Shapes Properties .
- Please note: A clevis section must be defined in the local shape file before you can use it in your current Job .
- To add a clevis to a shape file: Use SDS2 Utilities > Copy Shapes to copy the material from one shape file to another. Or you can manually add the material in Shapes Properties .

Adding clevis sections to the model :
- To add a clevis to a member as a submaterial, Model > Material > Add > select " Clevis " > select a member to add the clevis to > locate material work points > enter a clevis " Section size " on the Clevis Material window.
- To add a clevis as a miscellaneous member, press F2 > check the box for " Miscellaneous steel " > select " Clevis " > locate member work points > enter a clevis " Section size " on the Clevis Edit window.

- Settings for clevises added as legacy miscellaneous members or submaterial are stored on the Clevis Material window. Settings for clevises added as miscellaneous members are stored on the Clevis Edit window. Additional settings can be found in the local shape file (see above ).
