Group Member Edit by Piecemark ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Opens a selection dialog that lists by piecemark all group members in the model. Select one or more piecemarks to open the Group Member Edit window.
  • If you selected a piecemark with multiple group members under it, then all of those members will be affected by choices you make on the Group Member Edit window.
  • Submembers of a group member have their own edit windows. For the most part, the settings on those submember windows are unaffected by changes you make to the group member. One exception is " Sequence ." Changing the " Sequence " of the group member changes the " Sequence " of all submembers.
  • After you close the Group Member Edit window, the member selection dialog reappears on screen. You can either select another member to edit or press " Cancel " if you are done.

   Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Invoke Edit Group Member by Piecemark using any one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Edit Group Member by Piecemark icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Group Member ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Group Member > Edit Group Member by Piecemark .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Edit Group Member by Piecemark can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

2 . A selection dialog opens. On it is a selection list of all group members in your current Job.

Alternative 1 : Double-click a single group member piecemark. Go to step 3.

Alternative 2 : Select multiple group member piecemarks, then press " OK " to continue to step 3.

Alternative 3 : Press the " Cancel " button to end the Edit Group Member operation. Do not continue.

A special case: If a " Multiple Object Edit Password " has been entered and you selected multiple members (or a piecemark that has multiple members under it), you cannot go to step 3 until you have entered that exact, case-sensitive password.

3 . Edit Group Member by Piecemark opens the Group Member Edit window. Please note the following:

If in step 2 you selected one or more piecemarks with multiple members under them, the Group Member Edit window applies to all group members with those piecemarks.
