Pan Down ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Click the icon to scroll down within a tile . The display within that tile is nudged upward.
  • Pan Down does not rotate your view or change how closely you are zoomed into your view, but simply shifts the imaginary camera down so that items within a tile (window) move up.
  • If a particular tile is active , Pan Down operates on that tile.
  • Pan Down is most useful when invoked via a keyboard shortcut or mode. You'll likely find it to be more useful for navigation when using a tablet as opposed to a PC. See the step-by-step instructions .

   Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Invoke Pan Down using one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Pan Down icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Navigate -- Navigation Mode ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Navigate > Pan Down .

Method 3 or 4 (most useful) : Pan Down can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

2 . One of the following happens:

Possibility 1 : If you invoked Pan Down using method 1 or method 2, the display is nudged upward (one time) toward the top of the window.

Possibility 2 (most useful) : If you used a keyboard shortcut (method 3), the display moves up continuously upward until you release the key that you are pressing on your keyboard.
