Step-by-step instructions :
The following instructions assume that you are using a 3-button mouse.
1 . Invoke Translate using any one (1) of the following methods:
Method 1 : Click the Translate icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Navigate -- Navigation Mode ' ( Modeling ) or ' Navigate -- Navigation Mode ' ( Drawing Editor ) and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).
Method 2 : If the " Modeling layout style " or " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Navigate > Translate .
Method 3, 4 or 5 : Translate can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .
2 . The status line prompts, "Locate 1st translation point." Locate - Return mouse bindings become active.

Alternative 1 : Place the mouse pointer ( ) at an appropriate on-screen location and left-click( Locate ). Go on to step 3.
Alternative 2 : Right-click ( Return ) to cancel the Translate operation and keep everything as it was before step 1. Do not continue.
3 . The status line prompts, "Locate 2nd translation point."

Alternative 1 : Move the mouse pointer ( ) on screen the distance from the first point and in the direction that you want items on the screen to be moved and left-click ( Locate ). Go to step 4.
Alternative 2 : Right-click ( Return ) to end the Translate operation without moving the display. Do not continue.
4 . The display moves the distance and direction that the second point located is from the first point located.
Tip: To save a translated view for later use in your current session of Modeling (or your current drawing in the Drawing Editor ) use Retain View .
