Hole Sym Edit ( Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Lets you edit one or multiple hole symbols that you select. Selection filtering is built in.
  • While Hole Sym Edit can be used to edit one hole symbol at a time, the tool is more commonly used for multi-editing. The preferred way to edit a single hole symbol is to double-click it while ' Default ' is selected as the selection filter.
  • If you preselect multiple types of objects, Hole Sym Edit will edit only those objects that are hole symbols. The other objects will remain selected. Click here for an example. Preselection is done in Select Items mode. Here are the steps:

    Select Items bindings (for preselection)

    1. Draw an area box or hold down the Shift key and left-click ( Select+ ) several objects of the same type or of different types.
    2. Invoke Hole Sym Edit .
    3. The Hole Symbol Input window opens.
  • In-tool selection takes place when you invoke Hole Sym Edit with nothing selected or with object types other than hole symbols selected. The tool brings up Select Item(s) mouse bindings, and the status line prompts you select hole symbols. Here are the steps:

    1. Invoke Hole Sym Edit .

      Select Item(s) bindings (for in-tool selection)
    2. Select one or more objects. Built-in selection filtering restricts you to selecting hole symbols. Press the Enter key when you are done selecting the objects.
    3. The Hole Symbol Input window opens.
  • To invoke Hole Sym Edit :

    Method 1 : Click the Hole Sym Edit icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Objects -- Hole Symbols ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

    Method 2 : If " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Objects > Hole Symbols > Edit .

    Method 3, 4 or 5 : Hole Sym Edit can also be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the ' Lightning ' layout style, configuration of the interface is done using Customize Interface .
