Member Erase

Deletes the member(s) that you select.

1 . Invoke Member Erase using the Find Tool by searching the command name and clicking the icon, which is pictured above.

2 . The status line prompts, "Select member(s) to erase". Left-click (Select) one or more members. Press Enter or right-click (Menu) and select OK.

Alternative: Press Esc or right-click (Menu) and click Cancel to end the command.

3 . The status line prompts, "Erase this member?" or "Erase these members?". Left-click (Yes) to erase the member and end the command.

Alternative: Right-click (No) to not erase the member(s) and end the command.

  • Another way to erase members is to select the member(s) and press Delete or use the generic Delete command found on the Members contextual page > Modify section.
  • Do not use Erase Material instead of Member Erase. Even if you erase member main material, the member continues to exist and its material can be regenerated during Process and Create Solids.
  • If members are displayed in a solid form, it is possible to select items other than members (for example, materials). Read the yes-no confirmation dialog carefully and press No if it indicates that items are selected that you do not want to delete.
  • The member number of a member that you erase will not be used again by another member until you use the Release Deleted Members utility. Until you Release Deleted Members, you can recover the member using Member Undelete. After Release Deleted Members, the member number may be reassigned to a new member as it is Added.
