Visual Undelete

Displays members that were deleted. Select the members to undelete them.

1 . Click the Visual Undelete icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be found on the Members page > Undelete section.

Alternative: Invoke Visual Undelete using the Find Tool by searching the command name and clicking the icon, which is pictured above.

2 . Deleted members are displayed in their standard member color and in solid opaque wherever possible. The members in your current view that are in any of the three solid forms are displayed in the Secondary selection color (blue, by default). Members that are in stick form are displayed in the Primary selection color (green, by default). Left-click ( Select ) the member(s) you want to undelete. Press Enter or right-click (Menu) and select OK to undelete the members.

Alternative: Press Esc or right-click (Menu) and select Cancel to end the command without undeleting members.

  • Open ( Ctrl + o ) the view that you want the undeleted members to appear in. Since Visual Undelete requires that you select those members that you want to undelete, you need to be in a view where the deleted members can be shown.
  • Display all members in your current view in stick form or in one of the three solid forms. Having all members displayed in a consistent manner will make it easier for you to distinguish them from the deleted members when they appear on screen.
  • So long as you have not run the Release Deleted Members utility, Visual Undelete can be used to undelete any member that has ever been deleted in your current Job. If you have run the Release Deleted Members utility, then Visual Undelete can be used to undelete any member that was deleted since the time that utility was last run.
  • You cannot undelete a member whose member line exactly aligns with the member line of a member that currently exists in the model. Instead of undeleting the member, Visual Undelete gives you the following warning: "Unable to undelete member [num] due to overlap with member [num]".
  • If the box for Member operations under Job is checked in Event Logging Setup, the undeletion of members is recorded to the Log that is found on your current Job's Edit Properties window (Home > Project Settings > Job > Job Property Settings). It is also recorded to the Log of the undeleted member.
