Exit ( Assembly Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Closes the Assembly Editor . The same can be accomplished by clicking the "x" button at the corner of the Assembly Editor window.
  • What is lost:

    • If you opened the assembly editor by first selecting members then invoking Assembly New , those members will remain, unchanged, in Modeling . Copies of those members will be brought into the Assembly Editor . After you Exit , the copies of those members will cease to exist. Any changes made to those members in the Assembly Editor will be lost and are not recoverable.
    • The assembly member that is created when you view or edit an assembly in the Assembly Editor ceases to exist when you Exit . It will be resurrected when you open the Assembly Editor again.
    • If you performed view transformations such as Snap to Surface and did not subsequently do a Save or Save As , that view will not be remembered when you Assembly Edit to open the assembly again.
  • What is retained:

    • All materials that are attached to the assembly member remain a part of the assembly. You can verify this by doing File > Open then selecting that assembly again, or by doing Model > Assembly > Edit then selecting it again.
    • If you located a reference point, that reference point will be remembered. Also, the view that was current when you located the reference point will be the view that is opened when you open the assembly again.
    • The name you gave the assembly can be selected on the selection dialog that opens when you Open ( Ctrl + o ) an assembly in the Assembly Editor or when you Model > Assembly Edit in Modeling .
  • See the step-by-step instructions .
