Construction Line Mode ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

• Lets you invoke -- via your mouse -- commands for adding, modifying, or deleting construction lines.
• Modes can be reconfigured by users in Mode Configuration . This documentation explains the defaults for this mode.
• To activate Construction Line Mode :
  

  • Method 1 : Click the Construction Line Mode icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Construction Lines ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

  • Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Construction Line > Construction Line Mode .

  • Method 3, 4 or 5 : Construction Line Mode can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

  • Note: If you have nested this mode inside another mode using Mode Configuration , you can invoke this mode's mouse bindings from within that other mode by clicking the appropriate mouse button. To bring back the mouse bindings of the original mode, use Mode Return (or Esc ).

  • Left-click ( Edit ) invokes Construction Line Edit .
  • Middle-click ( Add ) invokes Construction Line Add .
  • Right-click ( Erase ) invokes Construction Line Erase .
  • Scroll up invokes Zoom In to Pointer .
  • Scroll down invokes Zoom Out to Pointer .
    
    

    Add Finite

    Shift key pressed

  • Middle-click ( Add Finite ) invokes Finite Construction Line Add .
    
    

    Ctr key pressed

    Add Mtrl Edit All  Erase All

  • Left-click ( Edit All ) invokes Construction Line Edit All .
  • Middle-click ( Add Material ) invokes Construction Line Add Material .
  • Right-click ( Erase All ) invokes Construction Line Erase All .
• If you find yourself stuck while executing a command and want to bring back the original mouse bindings, click the mouse button for Return (usually right-click). If Return is not shown on the mouse binding reporter, press Esc to execute Mode Return .
• For example, Construction Line Add brings you into a loop for repeating the command over again -- Return to get out of the loop.
• Do not erase vertical construction lines that were placed onto member details by auto detailing. Doing so may result in shortening problems.
