Hatch Edit ( Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Lets you edit one or multiple hatches or fills that you select. Selection filtering is built in.
  • While Hatch Edit can be used to edit one hatch at a time, the tool is more commonly used for multi-editing. The preferred way to edit a single hatch is to double-click it while ' Default ' is selected as the selection filter.
  • If you preselect multiple types of objects, Hatch Edit will edit only those objects that are hatches or fills. The other objects will remain selected. Click here for an example. Preselection is done in Select Items mode. Here are the steps:

    Select Items bindings (for preselection)

    1. Draw an area box or hold down the Shift key and left-click ( Select+ ) several objects of the same type or of different types.
    2. Invoke Hatch Edit .
    3. The Hatch Edit window opens.
  • In-tool selection takes place when you invoke Hatch Edit with nothing selected or with object types other than hatches or fills selected. The tool brings up Select Item(s) mouse bindings, and the status line prompts you select hatches or fills. Here are the steps:

    1. Invoke Hatch Edit .

      Select Item(s) bindings (for in-tool selection)
    2. Select one or more objects. Built-in selection filtering restricts you to selecting hatches or fills. Press the Enter key when you are done selecting the objects.
    3. The Hatch Edit window opens.
  • To invoke Hatch Edit :

    Method 1 : Click the Hatch Edit icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Objects -- Hatch ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

    Method 2 : If " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Objects > Hatches > Edit .

    Method 3, 4 or 5 : Hatch Edit can also be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the ' Lightning ' layout style, configuration of the interface is done using Customize Interface .
